6 Days Safari – Selous Game Reserve & Mikumi National Park

Day 1: Dar Es Salaam – Mikumi National Park

Early morning pick-up from your hotel in Dar es Salaam, and drive to Mikumi National Park which is approximately 6 hours from Dar es Salaam. You will arrive in Mikumi for hot lunch and then proceed with game drive until evening, drive back to the camp or lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Mikumi National Park

Full day game drives around Mikumi National Park with picnic lunch, and the park is very rich in varieties of bird species and a large number of animals such as elephants, lions, giraffe, buffalo, warthog, wildebeest, hartebeest, antelope, hippos, crocodiles, pythons etc. Later on, in the evening drive back to the camp or lodge in Mikumi for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Mikumi National Park – Selous Game Reserve

After early morning breakfast, you drive to Selous Game Reserve, which is approximately 8 hours from Mikumi National Park. The drive is through some arid vegetation characterised by African Savannah and scattered acacia.

Day 4 & 5: Selous Game Reserve

After early breakfast depart for full day game drive in the Selous Game Reserve exploring the game in the surrounding areas. Picnic lunch in the mid-day, before the end of the day, return to the camp or lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Selous Game Reserve – Dar Es Salaam

Early morning walking safari usually start at 6-6.30am after first-morning tea or coffee, accompanied by an armed ranger, and it will take around 2-3 hours long. After enjoying your breakfast in the morning, check-out then begin the drive back to Dar es salaam for the drop off at your hotel or airport.
